On Saturday, Aug. 29, a large group of unmasked Trump demonstrators walked through the outdoor dining areas along Monterey Road in downtown Morgan Hill. There was no physical distancing and they shouted slogans across our dinner plates.

We want a future where we can grow responsibly, attract strong talent, and provide a safe and affordable community to our employees.

During such a challenging time for the City of Morgan Hill, it is disappointing to learn that the current mayor is running unopposed in the next election.

With 60 percent of Americans diagnosed with one or more chronic illnesses—conditions which increase the risk for severe outcomes and death from Covid-19—the U.S. now more than ever needs evidence-based advice on how to maintain and restore our metabolic health.

Having residents understand what they are getting and losing and having real opportunities to affect those proposals should be a primary focus.

Soon a gradual re-opening may provide an opportunity to decide how we want to embrace some of what we have witnessed in nature’s ability to so quickly adapt and change. Can we think anew?

We are proud of our role in providing an essential service to every community. The one constant throughout this crisis has been our commitment to fulfilling the vital mission of the Postal Service.

One might re-write this in light of current events to say, “The man who views his life after this pandemic has passed, in the same way as he did before this pandemic came upon us, has wasted a pandemic.”
