Juana P. Quintanar

Born in Monterey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Juana has been a Gilroy resident since 1964. She passed away March 6th, 2007 in Gilroy at the age of 73, to join her husband Jose F. Quintanar, her daughters Petra H. Cruz and Virginia P. Quintanar and her youngest son, Leonard P. Quintanar. She was the loving mother to Ricardo (Pilar) Quintanar, Helen Salinas, Georgia (Moises) Fuentes and Gloria (Juan) Ojeda and a devoted grandmother to 20 and great-grandmother of 29. She was a dedicated cannery worker for 20 years at Gilroy Foods. She was a hard working women with a strong will to live and celebrate life. She was a born again Christian who cared and loved everyone she knew. We were all blessed to have her as a mother and all who knew her, loved her for who she was . We will always love you and have you in our hearts. We will always carry your memory throughout the years to come. God bless you always, Mom!

Tony Adame

Tony passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at UCSF after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of 45 years to Gloria Adame of Gilroy and was preceded in death by his mother, Nacha Blanco. Father of Barbara Valderrama (John) of Gilroy and Sheila Adame -Pequeno of Los Banos, CA, grandfather of John Valderrama Jr. & Brianne Valderrama, both of Gilroy; Sydney Medellin & Juan Antonio Pequeno, both of Los Banos, brother of Mercy Molina (Damacio), Yolanda Betancourt (Ray), Maggie Cruz (Ross), Danny Blanco, Richard Blanco (Gloria), Rosemarie Berry (Wade), Mary Siador (Sam), and the late Jesse Blanco, Larry Blanco and Martha Ponce. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a native of Gilroy, attended Gilroy Schools, was a retired Navy Veteran. member of Gilroy VFW, American Legion and GI Forum. Tony has been a life long resident of Gilroy. past Park & Recreation Commissioner of Gilroy was very active in Youth and sport activities, past chairman of the Gilroy Garlic Festival Hospitality Committee, was active locally in boxing, Little League, Softball League's, VFW Bingo, Gilroy Hispanic Chamber Charter member.

Lena S. Brand

Jose P. Castaneda, Jr.

Jose P. Castaneda Jr died in Aromas due to an automobile accident. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived in Hollister almost all of his life. He worked for Advance Tech and was in the top of his class at Sierra Academy in Oakland where he majored in aeronautics. He is a 1999 graduate of San Benito High School and attended Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed listening to music in his free time.

Arturo Duarte Cervantes

Arturo Duarte Cervantes died in Aromas due to an automobile accident. He was born in Hollister and lived here all of his life. He was a student at San Jose State University, planning to graduate this year, and worked as an assistant in a law office.

Irene R. Enderson

Irene R. Enderson, beloved wife of Edward Enderson for 56 years, loving Aunt of Danielle and Lynne Enderson, Barry McGee, Mike, Corine, Mike Jr, Tom and Sean Renteria, Kim Kempton, Terry and Susie Saltalamachia. Others include an extended family in the Bay Area and many cousins across the country.

Lila Jean Wehe

Lila Jean Wehe, a San Juan Bautista resident, died at the age of 84. She lived in San Juan Bautista for about 10 years moving, here from Colfax, CA, and was a member of San Juan Bautista VFW Auxilliary.

Louis Rosso

Louis passed away in his sleep on March 1, 2007 at the age of 97 after a very brief illness. He was born in Los Angeles in 1910 to Italian immigrant parents. In 1913, he moved with his parents and brothers, Randolph and John, to an orchard and vineyard on Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill. He was predeceased by Juliette, his wife of 66 years. He is survived by their daughter, Louella.

William Patrick Macaskill

Bill passed away peacefully the morning of March 1, 2007 in Palo Alto, CA. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota on July 10, 1924 to George and Dolly Macaskill. He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Lois Macaskill. He leaves behind children Patricia Clavio (Michael) of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Cannon (Tom) of Reno, NV, David Macaskill (Sally) of Reno, NV, Anne Reale (Basil) of Santa Clarita, CA and William T. Macaskill (predeceased). Stepfather of Pam Windle of Orinda, CA , Jane Zuercher (Mark) of Orinda, CA, Shauna Lynch (Scott) of Gilroy, CA and Caroline Pixley of Hollister, CA. Grandfather of Cindy Lee (Trevor), Michael Clavio (Jessica), Gabriel Cannon (Sandra) and Mateo Reale. Step-grandfather of Katie Windle, Sara Windle, Benjamin Zuercher, Hayley Zuercher, Nathan Lynch and Abbey Lynch. He was great-grandfather to Mikhaela, Kira, Larissa, Kirsten, Trevor, Thomas and Tegan.

Margaret L. Hernandez

Margaret L. Hernandez, passed away in Salinas. She was the wife of the late Rico Hernandez.
