Genevieve Adornetto

Genevieve Adornetto passed away May 22, 2007 in Los Gatos after a short illness. She was born on Christmas Day 1923, in Loguivy de la Mer, France, the fourth child of five born to Piere and Marie Ravad. During the second World War, she met and married U.S. Army Major Joseph Adornetto in Paris, France. She came to America with 600 other "war brides" on a Liberty ship that arrived in New York. Genevieve gave birth to two daughters, Michele born in 1946 and Janet born in 1951. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Adornetto (1961). Genevieve worked as a nurse in Alameda and will be remembered for her vibrant and energetic personality. She will be missed by all her family and friends including: her daughters, Michele Burch (Roger) and Janet Vanderhoof (Austin), grandchildren Joseph (Jennifer) and Sean (Darlene) Burch and Bryan (Laurie), Blair and Blake Vanderhoof and her great-grandchildren Joseph, Tyler, Sarah, Ian and Knox Burch and Camden Vanderhoof.

Daniel E. Basaldua

Daniel E. Basaldua passed away in Turlock, May 24, 2007. He was 16.

Born Gyorgyike Rozsa Kondor on December 18, 1912 in Balassagyarmat, Hungary and died in Monterey, California.

Ginni S. Souza

Ginni Bono-Souza born in Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on May 22, 2007 at the age of 74. She is preceded in death by her parents, O.Torger and Mable Haug, her husband, John Bono of Gilroy and Ernest Souza of Santa Clara. She is survived by her son Mark Souza, daughter-in-law Shannon, grandchildren Brittney and Alexandra of Gilroy, her brother Curtis Haug and wife Ester of Modesto, sister-in-law Marilee Gullo and husband Mario of Santa Clara and many nieces and nephews.

Douglass E. Rees Jr.

Douglass Eugene Rees Jr., 48, of Meridian, Idaho, went to be with Christ on May 22, 2007. He graduated from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, CA in 1977. Doug is survived by his wife Denise Lynn Rees; two sons and one daughter-in-law and his parents, Douglass and Janice Rees of Morgan Hill, CA.

Kazuko Hoki Hamilton

Passed away peacefully on May 19, 2007. Kazuko was born on May 11, 1931, in Kyoto, Japan. She met her Soul-mate, the late Carl Hamilton in 1952, and was married at the US Embassy in 1953. Kazuko was a beautiful and highly intelligent individual who loved oil painting, gardening and was very creative in making kimonos and origami. Upon arriving in New Hampshire in 1955, she had to learn the American culture and began to learn the English language. She loved to read English literature and listen to classical music. She became a US citizen in 1970. Her continual devotion was to her late husband, Carl Hamilton of 54 years and her six children. Her oldest son preceded her in death earlier this year, Carl S. Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Kay Mariani; twin daughters, Dianna Hamilton and Nina Birch Hamilton; sons, Bryan Hamilton and Kevin Hamilton. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be private.

Viola Mason

Viola Mason passed away May 21, 2007 in San Jose. She was 98. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy Mason of Gilroy and son, Donald Mason of Salinas. She is survived by son Bill Mason and daughter-in-law Florence of Grants Pass, OR, sons; Jim Mason and Bob Mason of Gilroy, daughters; Millie Wright of Salinas, Leola Painter of Gilroy and Wynona Haygood and son-in-law Albert of Gilroy, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great- grandchildren, a bother Roy Lee, sister-in law Bette and sister Irene of Oklahoma.

Edward Leslie Dean

Edward Leslie Dean, son of Everett Dorr Dean and Alice Marion Hanson Dean was born on November 29, 1935 in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota and passed from this life on May 20, 2007 in Cox's Hospital, Springfield, MO at the age of 71 years.

Edward “Rocky” Lydon

Rocky Lydon died at Monterey Pines Convalescent Hospital, Monterey, after a lengthy illness. He was 89.

Lloyd B. Soliven

Passed away at his Hollister home. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 24th at 11:00 AM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.
