Frank J. Caliri, 80, passed suddenly on Friday, August 27, 2010, at his home in Gilroy. A native of Gilroy and Husband of Gloria Locarnini Caliri for 56 years. Father of Susan Caliri (Terry) of Oakland, CA and Donald Caliri of Gilroy. Grandfather of Krystal Romero (Brian) of Gilroy, Tony Caliri of Gilroy and Isabella Caliri of Oakland. Brother of Sebastian “Buster” Caliri (Gina) of Plumas Lake, CA, Mary Mercer of Gilroy, Anna Mae Armstrong (Robert) of Concord, CA. and the late Frances Lewis, Santo Caliri, Annette Balestreri and Geraldine Copelan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loyal canine friend, Tasha.

Frank graduated from Gilroy High School in 1948. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran where he studied electronics. He started Fringe TV Service in 1952. He was one of the Co-founders of Gilroy Cable TV in 1965 which later became Falcon Communications and then Charter Communications. He went on to become a Realtor and was Past President of the South County Real Estate Board and Past Director of the San Jose Board of Realtors.

He was extremely active in community activities. A member of

St. Mary’s Church and the Gilroy American Legion, he was an avid snow skier and private pilot. A member of Gilroy Rotary, Gilroy Elks and E. Clampus Vitus, he was also former “Volunteer of the Year” for the Gilroy Garlic Festival.
