Maria de Avila Leon, 89, of Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, was called home by our Heavenly Father on August 26, 2010. Maria is survived by her husband of 48 years, Emilio Leon. She was blessed with three children, Victor Leon, Rosario Marlow and Laurentina Leon Burns, and 14 loving grandchildren, Blanca Sanchez, Yolanda Correa, the late Fernando Leon, Victor Leon, Jr., Elvira Bustillos, Veronica Torres, Abraham Leon, Elizabeth Leon, Alejandro Leon Marlow, Angelina Leon Marlow, Giovanni Leon Marlow, Christopher Leon Burns, Nicolas Leon Burns and Adrian Leon Burns. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and numerous additional family members and friends.

Maria will be remembered for her many special qualities; among them her unconditional love and support of her children and family. She will be forever loved and deeply missed. To the end, she was grateful, caring and very appreciative of all those who visited and cared for her.

The funeral services will begin on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 9:30 A.M. from Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, proceeding to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5th and College Streets, for a funeral Mass commencing at 10:00 A.M. Graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister.
