Peter R. Alvidrez passed away Friday morning in Hollister at the age of 77. He was born In El Centro, was raised along with his brothers and sisters in Corcoran and came to San Benito County in 1963. Peter was a construction worker having worked on the San Luis Dam in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church; V.F.W. Post 9242 of Hollister and the Laborers International Union, #297 in Salinas.

He was the husband of the late Tomasa Garcia Alvidrez, who died June 29,2000. He was the father of Connie Alvarez, husband, Daniel, of Turlock, Bonnie Rodriguez, husband, John, of Modesto, Margaret Perez, husband, Danny, of Redding, Frank Perez, wife, Leticia of Merced, Peter Alvidrez, wife, Isabel and Sandra Azevedo, husband, Frank all of Hollister, Brenda Torres, husband Anthony, of Gilroy and Gloria Alvidrez of Hollister. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, 4 brothers and 6 sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin Wednesday morning, Sept. 19th at 8 A.M. at the Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home followed by a prayer service at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home chapel. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday morning at proceed to Sacred Heart Church for a funeral Mass at 11 A.M. Graveside services and full military rites provided by the Hollister V.F.W. will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
