W. Jere Prather May 23, 1938 – January 16, 2017

Jere passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 78. He enjoyed a 25 year career with IBM following service in the US Air Force.
Since moving to Morgan Hill in 1977, he was an active member of the Morgan Hill Airmens Association, Northern California Soaring Association, Air Sailing Gliderport, and in the 1980’s, the Emerald Regime Band Boosters.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Anita, son David (Julie), daughter Sabine, sister Rita and two granddaughters.
Jere’s passions were his family and aviation. He was an avid pilot beginning in his youth when he worked at the airport to pay for flying lessons. He enjoyed flying small, inexpensive airplanes and sailplanes, usually with David and/or Sabine.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 1:00 P.M. at LIMA-CAMPAGNA-JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME, 17720 Monterey Street, Morgan Hill. The family encourages donations to nonprofit aviation (or other) organizations.
