Vera Funk born on October 8, 1922 in New Britain, Connecticut, daughter of Russian immigrants, Annastacia and John Matyczyk, passed away November 21, 2006, and was a graduate of New Britain General Hospital. Vera is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert A. Funk of Hollister, CA, sisters, Lillian Maddaluno of New Britain,Ct.,Louise Bechum of Southington, Ct. Sonia Matyczyk of New Britain,Ct., and brother, George Matyczyk of Southington,Ct., her children and their spouses, David and Christy Funk of Reno,NV, Samuel and Vanda Funk of Hollister and Donald and Marcia Funk of Sandy Hook,Ct., and grandchildren, Mark E. Funk, Sonia C. Joy, John R. Funk, Robert T. Funk and Jacob M. Funk.
Following a private ceremony, Vera will be laid to rest at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA. Memorials are prefered to the Habitat for Humanity or Hospice, c/o Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 870 San Benito St., Hollister,Ca95023.
