We are in danger of losing 21 percent of the funding for our library, and other Santa Clara County libraries unless Measure B is passed by a two thirds vote on March 2.

Our library is a valuable resource to our city and community. It is very important in the attempt to improve the literacy of our children. It is a refuge for relaxation, study and research, and it is heavily used and greaty enjoyed by our citizens. What if the hours were to be cut by one fifth?

No one wants greater taxes, and Measure B just replaces a tax we already have but which ends in 2004. The increase per home is just 48 per home, to $42 per year, and that would not increase for 7 years.

We feel that Measure B is a good investment for Morgan Hill, and we hope that you will join us in voting for it on March 2.

Al Khan and others, Morgan Hill
