There’s a reason they play these games. On paper, there was really no reason for the host Oakwood High girls basketball team to beat Redding’s Shasta High Tuesday. After all, Shasta is bigger, better, and more experienced in the tough Central Coast Section playoffs. And that’s why they don’t leave the results to stats alone; because on paper, heart doesn’t show up as a stat.

For the longest time, the Oakwood High boys basketball team could walk into a gym against a league foe and know it was going to win, even if it had an off game. That is no longer the case, as the Hawks are in their first season playing in the competitive Mission Trail League.

A trio of Oakwood School students were given high praise for their prowess in the field of science at the 2017 Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Championship. They will now bring their projects to be judged at the California State Science Fair.

A year ago, Oakwood went into the final game of the season with a chance to clinch a Coastal Division championship.

Oakwood was in an unfamiliar position from the start against Trinity Christian Wednesday night.

The Boys Varsity Basketball team traveled to Monterey Monday to face off with powerhouse Trinity Christian in an offensive slugfest, winning 83-73.

The Oakwood boys basketball team improved its record to 7-1 with a 67-43 win over Gonzales High School.

The Oakwood High School Boys Varsity Basketball improved to 4-0 with two more victories against Mountain View and North Valley Baptist.

Oakwood remains perfect on the season after surviving a scare from Gilroy Wednesday night and winning in four sets.
