Ron Montarbo passed away on January 5, 2017 at age 84, in his home, Augusta, Georgia, surrounded by family. Ronald Leon Montarbo was born in San Jose, California to Emma and William Montarbo. He was raised in Morgan Hill, California with his sisters Beverly and Maxine and brothers Gilbert, Vernon and Billy.
In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he was a catcher on the Naval baseball team and during his time of service, he received the National Defense Service Metal of Good Conduct. After he served in the Navy, he attended San Jose State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.  He was a junior high school teacher for 34 years at Bass Elementary School.
Over the years, he coached boys basketball, girls basketball, Pop Warner football, little league baseball and youth soccer. In 1977 he married Jeannette Farris and together they enjoyed watching the Yankees, San Francisco 49ers, Boston Celtics, Fresno State football and any and all sports. Jeannette and Ron lived in Redding, California and were active members of the Church of Christ.
Over the last few years Ron showed tremendous and admirable strength as he struggled against Parkinson’s disease. His tremendous sense of humor and outgoing personality made him a memorable individual who will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Montarbo, his sister Maxine, his children, David, Missy, Mike and Ronnie and grandchildren Cody, Jolene, Alex, Samantha, Jackie, Fay, Mia, Max and another grandchild, Dylan, on the way!
Ron Montarbo’s funeral and service will be January 18, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding, California.
