In our reference collection, which must be used at the library, we have print items that detail specifics of the law from the local to the national. We have the one volume Morgan Hill Municipal Code, the two-volume Ordinance Code of the County of Santa Clara and the nearly 200 volumes of West’s Annotated California Code.
Our circulating collection, from which you can check out items for up to three weeks, includes many of the popular Nolo and Sphinx guides covering topics such as: Power of Attorney, Child Custody, Copyright, Bankruptcy, Leases and Rental Agreements.
Our library reference gateway website, www.santaclaracountylib.org/reference/ has links to lots of resources to help you in your legal research. These links have been selected by librarians in our system and are organized by subject.
The Law and the Government subjects contain very useful links that give access to federal, state and municipal codes, the Nolo legal encyclopedia, free legal forms, California tenant’s rights and much more. If you don’t have Internet access at home or work, remember that the library has 10 Internet computers available on a first come first served basis.
Like most public libraries, the Morgan Hill Library, with its limited space and general collection, may not have all of the law resources you require. You may need to go to a library that specializes in law. Each county in California has a County Law Library that is open to the public. The Santa Clara County Law Library is located at 360 N.
