MORGAN HILL POLICE
Fraud: A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported someone has used her Social Security number to obtain employment in Arizona and Colorado. The report was taken on Sept. 16 at 4:24 p.m.
Battery: A Morgan Hill resident reported she was beaten up at a Live Oak High football game. The report was taken on Sept. 19 at 10:56 p.m.
Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was at Pump N Go gas station. The report was taken on Sept. 18 at 9:53 a.m.
• Two vehicles ere broken into while parked in the staff parking lot at Live Oak High School. The report was taken at 10:11 p.m. on Sept. 19.
• A guest of the Residence Inn reported his Ford Focus was broken into through the back window while it was parked in the back parking lot. Three pieces of luggage were stolen. The report was taken on Sept. 22 at 5 a.m.
Threats: A resident of Sanchez Drive reported getting up to five threatening phone calls a day from an unknown suspect. The report was taken on Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Burglary: An office on Monterey Road was broken into after closing hours. Windows were broken and screens were missing. The report was taken on Sept. 15 at 9:35 p.m.
• A metal storage unit for storing tools on the construction site of the Harley Davidson lot was broken into. The padlock on the door was broken. At least $1,000 were reportedly stolen. The report was taken at 7:09 a.m. on Sept. 16.
• A downtown business was broken into overnight. The suspect(s) apparently climbed on the roof and entered the business through a window by pushing out an exhaust fan. The business was ransacked, and money and $1,000 in jewelry were stolen. The report was taken on Sept. 16 at 7:40 a.m.
• Another downtown business was broken into overnight. Entry was made through a rear window. The business was ransacked. The report was taken at 8:43 a.m. on Sept. 16.
• A downtown restaurant was burglarized overnight. Wine and approximately $300 in cash were stolen. The report was taken at 9:51 a.m. on Sept. 16.
• A construction worker reported all the tools from the site of the Comcast Call Center had been locked in a container in the back of the building, and all the tools were stolen. The report was taken on Sept. 22 at 6:21 a.m.
• A resident of the Terracina Apartments reported someone entered her residence overnight and stole a DVD player and cash. The report was taken at 8:32 a.m. on Sept. 23.
Vandalism: A resident of San Benito Place reported someone drove up the resident’s driveway overnight and onto bushes in the yard. The report was taken on Sept. 18 at 8:12 a.m.
• A porta-potty at the curb on West Dunne Avenue has been dumped over twice, the last time damaging the porta-potty. The report was taken at 1:18 p.m. on Sept. 21.
Stolen vehicle: A landscaper working on Barrett reported someone stole his truck. The truck was pulling a trailer with a large lawnmower and two smaller ones on it. The report was taken on Sept. 19 at 1:25 p.m.
• Animal Damage Management reported an employee took the company’s new Fork pickup to San Jose three days earlier and did not return. The report was taken at 9:13 a.m. on Sept. 22.
Tampering with a vehicle: A resident of the Terracina Apartments reported the front license plate was removed from the resident’s vehicle. The report was taken on Sept. 15 at 3:20 p.m.
Petty theft: An employee of the Extended Stay America reported her purse was stolen while she was at work. The purse contained identification, Social Security card, vehicle keys and credit cards. The report was taken on Sept. 21 at 2:22 p.m.
SHERIFF:
Auto theft: A Morgan Hill man told deputies on Sept. 25 that a woman stole his red, 1993 Jeep Cherokee on Aug. 21 after an argument in which he denied her request for money. The victim said he believes the suspect and the Jeep are in the Gilroy area and has been looking for them unsuccessfully for the past month. Deputies are treating the case as felony vehicle theft.
Forgery: Deputies are looking for a Denise Jiminez after a Morgan Hill woman reported someone by that name altered and cashed a check she wrote and mailed to PG&E on Sept. 10. When the victim received the canceled check in the mail on Sept. 24, she noticed that “PG&E” in the “Pay to the order of” section had been crossed out and replaced with “Denise Jiminez.” The check had been cashed at Bank of the West. The victim told deputies she doesn’t know anyone by that name.
