Renovated Oakridge to open

$141 million renovation with its grand opening celebration Friday
beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Century Theatres/Blossom Hill
entrance to the center. Westfield has expanded Oakridge’s 801,000

feet of retail, entertainment, and dining options.
SAN JOSE – Westfield Shoppingtown Oakridge in San Jose celebrates its $141 million renovation with its grand opening celebration Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Century Theatres/Blossom Hill entrance to the center. Westfield has expanded Oakridge’s 801,000 square feet to more than a million square feet of retail, entertainment, and dining options.

Shoppers can expect to see over 70 new tenants including; Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, New York & Co., Victoria’s Secret, Aeropostale, Champs Sports, Linens N Things, Borders Books Music Café, Century 20 Theatres, The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, as well as the addition of a new food court featuring 16 quick food options including Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Rubio’s Baja Grill and ColdStone Creamery,

The center is also enhancing its focus on family by opening a signature Children’s PlayTown (an interior play structure), an outdoor double-decker carousel, an outdoor park with play area, a tile wall painted by local children (which raised over $24,000 for three local charities), and several family amenities including a state-of-the art family restroom.

The Grand Opening Ceremony will feature a performance by the San Jose State Marching Band, followed by brief remarks from Peter Lowy, CEO Westfield America and Raymond Syufy, CEO Century Theatres. Balloons and streams of confetti will usher in shoppers through the new food court at 10 a.m.

The marching band will parade through the mall led by a 2nd grade class from adopted school Allen Elementary, and celebrations will continue with strolling entertainment and opening festivities.

The celebration will continue through Oct. 5.

Westfield Shoppingtown Oakridge is located near the intersections of Highways 85 and 87 in South San Jose. This expansion and remodel project, which lasted just over 16 months, adds over 1,500 new retail and restaurant jobs. Additionally, the expansion includes two new parking structures and 1,500 new parking spaces, bringing the total to 5,200.

The Shoppingtown will feature more than 160 retailers and restaurants, Century 20 Theatres, Linens N Things, Borders Books Music Cafe, Macy’s, Sears, and Old Navy.
