Jan. 30

Vandalism: Velodyne Acoustics on Digital Drive reported someone sprayed yellow paint on the company’s trailer. The report was taken at 11:33pm.
Stolen vehicle: A guest at the Ramada Inn on Condit Road reported his Chevy Impala stolen overnight. The Impala was later recovered; it had been driven into a tree at San Martin Avenue and Mammini Court and abandoned. The report was taken at 12:20pm.
Identity theft: A Sundance Drive resident reported someone used his Social Security number to buy a computer from Dell. The report was taken at 12:36pm.
Stolen vehicle: A Berry Court resident reported his Nissan was stolen. The report was taken at 3:56pm.

Jan. 31

Vandalism: Velodyne Acoustics on Digital Drive reported graffiti was spraypainted with yellow paint in two separate areas on the back of the building. The report was taken at 8:17am.
Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported her Visa was used on Jan. 30 at the Safeway grocery store in Tennant Station shopping center to purchase a $509.95 gift card. The report was taken at 10:31am.
Fraud: Someone forged and cashed a $1,600 check at the Playa check cashing business. The report was taken at 5:05pm.
Vandalism: Target in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center reported a mirror in the restroom was vandalized. The report was taken at 6:51pm.

Feb. 1

Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported that someone shattered the back window of their Toyota Tacoma and stole the satellite stereo from the truck. The report was taken at 6:50am.
Vandalism: A Serene Drive resident reported someone shattered two windows of their BMW, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 9:01am.
Burglary: Sobrato High School on Burnett Avenue reported someone stole $3,500 in baseball equipment from the containers by the baseball field. The report was taken at 9:18am.
Fraud: The Safeway grocery store in Tennant Station shopping center reported a male and female tried to use a stolen credit card to purchase a $500 gift card. The report was taken at 4:51pm.

Feb. 2

Petty theft: A Hillwood lane resident reported three DVDs from NetFlix were stolen from their mailbox. The report was taken at 9:53am.

Arrests:

Samuel D. Cavazos, 30, was cited and released for alleged trespassing. The report was taken at 9:17am on Jan. 20.
Lester L. Deraad, III, was cited and released on suspicion of driving under the influence. The report was taken on Jan. 21 at 11:29pm.
Vanessa M. Ruiz, 22, was cited and released on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The report was taken on Jan. 21 at 12:59pm.
