New display at City Hall

Butterflies in Flight, shadow boxes and African themed art, creations by artist Louise Shields, are currently on display in the Gilroy City Hall Gallery. The unique pieces are not only attractively displayed but I've been told by some of the ladies who work at City Hall that Louise's art makes them happy.

2 letters: Central High move no backroom deal; Red Phone nailed it with shopping cart answer

Moving Central High School was anything but a decision ‘made in some back room’

Soup to nuts: Fiddling around beyond Butterfield

Due to a previous commitment, Miss Jenny and I missed the Mardi ’Shroom, but the accounts from the Morgan Hill Times booth – hey, we sold a bunch of new subscriptions – are good, so mushroom caps off to all the organizers. Nice work entertaining a packed house. Am not happy that I missed Victoria Battison’s invitation on behalf of the Rotary Club to stop by for a cup of mushroom soup. Love mushroom soup, but it’s on the top of the list for next year.

The Morgan Hill United Methodist Church (17175 Monterey St.) hosts several (free or with sliding-scale fees) that are focused on common, everyday trials and tribulations.

Except that one of our main rituals is watching the teenager run around every morning searching for his homework.

Last time we talked about creating a PLAN to make our contract: pause to consider our objective, look at our winners and losers and analyze our alternatives. Now, we put our PLAN into action.

‘American Idiot’: A musical adapted from the album

You will love this production if you are a Green Day fan, and you will likely take it as a feast of Green Day music. If you are not a fan, you will be exposed to the wild and unrepressed music of the ’90s and have an experience to wonder about.

Turn the wheels of justice

It’s been a year since Antolin Garcia Torres, 22 of Morgan Hill, was arrested and charged with the kidnap and murder of 15-year-old Sierra LaMar.

Getting Out: Nature is the best medicine

Ryan was defiant, angry and was dabbling in an abundance  of risky behaviors.  He wandered the streets when he should have been in school. He had little motivation and less self-esteem.  Ryan was sixteen years old and headed for trouble.
