Jeanette Elizabeth Dettman

Jeanette Elizabeth Dettman returned to her Lord on Thanksgiving day, November 23, 2006. She is dearly remembered and missed by all.

Maricela Cuevas Perez

Visitation will begin Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 3:00 PM at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery

Francisco Jacquez

Francisco Jacquez passed away suddenly at his residence on November 23rd at the age of 75 years. Mr. Jacquez was a native of Mexico and has been a Hollister resident since 1970. He retired from Tri-Valley Cannery as a forklift operator after a career that spanned 30 years. He was a member of Teamster Local 890 of Salinas. Since retiring, his enjoyment included spending time with relatives and friends, playing card games, playing Dominos, and listening to music.

Mary Evangeline Khan

Our dear Wife, Mother, Grandmother (etc.), Educator, Councilor and Friend has passed from this life into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom she loved all her life. Mary Raney Khan left us the morning of November 26, peacefully, in her sleep at home with her family. She was 98 years old.

Theodore E. Bond

Theodore E. Bond died November 25, 2006 at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. He was born in Towanda, Kansas and moved to Davis, California with his parents in 1936. He and Freda Blaettler were married on Aug. 29, 1942. He served three years in World War II and received a Bronze Star for service above and beyond the call of duty. Upon his return he completed his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley. He also earned a Masters Degree at Iowa State University and a Doctor of Engineering degree from U.C. Davis. He worked for thirty one years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He traveled to many under developed countries around the world in regard to animal and human habitation. He encouraged the use of solar heating and also methods making animals more comfortable in warm countries. A joy of his life was jazz music. Ted played guitar in jazz bands over six decades. He will be missed for his quiet and gentle ways by his family and friends. Mr. Bond was a member of Gilroy Elks, SIRS and Gilroy Historical Society. His wife of 64 years, Freda Blaettler and sons Steven (Shari) Bond of Berkeley and Alan (Elaine) Bond of Oakland and grandchildren, Jesse Bond of Santa Cruz, and Maggie and Hannah Bond, loved him dearly. He also is survived by three nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister Veronica Doane and a brother Fred Groeley

Francisco Jacquez

Francisco Jacquez passed away suddenly last Thursday in Hollister at the age of 75. Funeral services are pending for later in the week at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home.

Elaine Harrison

Elaine Harrison passed away Nov. 22, 2006, in San Jose after a lengthy illness, at the age of 84. She is survived by her children Tom Harrison Jr. of Gilroy and Christine Funk of Hollister, grandchildren Brett Lee Harrison, Sarah Ann Harrison, Robert Funk, Jacob Funk and Angela Elizabeth Harrison. She is also survived by a sister in Santa Rosa. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her son Spencer and her husband Tom Sr., who owned Harrison Tree Service. She has been a Gilroy resident since 1952, was a Project Leader in 4-H, a member of San Martin Horseman and the Saddlelites Horseman Association. She bred and raised Appaloosa Horses on the family's ranch in Gilroy.

Clara Guzman Lopez

Visitation will be at 9:00 AM on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at the funeral home, followed by Graveside Services at 2:00 PM at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.

Cecilia B. Krask

On Thanksgiving night, the angels escorted Cecilia Krask to heaven, where she joined her husband Harry Krask, who passed away in 1985.

Judy M. Rider

Judy M. Rider died in Hollister. She was born in San Mateo and lived in San Benito Co. since 1965 moving here from Morgan Hill. She married her husband, Don, in 1965 in Morgan Hill. She was involved in many things in Hollister as the director and teacher at The Methodist Church Preschool, served on the board of San Benito High School and Tres Pinos School, Head Pairer for California USA Wrestling, Baler Football Boosters, Baler Wrestling and Razorback Wrestling, Monterey Bay Area Football League, Hollister Little League, a member of the Hollister United Methodist Church, San Benito Co. Volunteer Fire Dept. a 4-H leader and TOPS. She attended Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill and Gavilan College.
