Jeffrey Jay Brashear

Passed away in Hollister Wednesday, November 29th after complications of a lingering illness. Memorial services were held Sunday, December 3rd. at the First Presbyterian Church.

Annabelle M. Kerr

Annabelle Kerr passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on November 27, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband Merton Kerr; loving mother of Lori Burgman and her husband Chris, and Alexis Kerr all of Gilroy; grandmother of Tonia and Charles Shackelford; great grandmother of Vince Soares, Leah Ivory, Kenny Ivory, Meghan Muller and Isaiah Patrick.

Christopher Michael Quezada

Christopher Michael Quezada, born September 17th, 1988 in Tustin, CA, and a resident of Morgan Hill, CA since 1996, passed away suddenly on November, 27th, 2006, in a tragic car accident in Los Altos Hills. He had just turned eighteen. Deeply mourning Christopher are his mother Eva Musgrove, father George Quezada, and stepfather Tim Musgrove. Christopher is cherished also by his older brother George (21), his little sister Sophie (9) and little brother Derek (6). A host of grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends also remember him with fondness, including many from the local area as well as from Orange County, and his father's companion Merle Gitlin. He will be terribly and painfully missed by all.

Dona Jean Pellandini-Harms

Dona "Jean" Pellandini-Harms, co owner of H&R Foreign Car Service, passed away at her home with her family around her on Nov. 28, 2006. She leaves behind her loving husband Dennis, the man she adored, and whom adored her for over 32 years; her two beautiful daughters Melody and Trina, her oldest, dearest sister Betty; her 7 wonderful grandchildren, Amber, Jeffrey, Jason, Jody, Garrett, Trevor and Rachel, great-grandmother of 3 beautiful boys.

Scott Fletcher

Scott Fletcher died unexpectedly in his San Francisco home. He was 60.

Vera Funk

Vera Funk born on October 8, 1922 in New Britain, Connecticut, daughter of Russian immigrants, Annastacia and John Matyczyk, passed away November 21, 2006, and was a graduate of New Britain General Hospital. Vera is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert A. Funk of Hollister, CA, sisters, Lillian Maddaluno of New Britain,Ct.,Louise Bechum of Southington, Ct. Sonia Matyczyk of New Britain,Ct., and brother, George Matyczyk of Southington,Ct., her children and their spouses, David and Christy Funk of Reno,NV, Samuel and Vanda Funk of Hollister and Donald and Marcia Funk of Sandy Hook,Ct., and grandchildren, Mark E. Funk, Sonia C. Joy, John R. Funk, Robert T. Funk and Jacob M. Funk.

Roy Greenough

Roy Greenough passed away in San Jose. He was born in Wellingford, England and lived in Hollister for 18 years coming here from Gilroy. He and his wife, Magdalena, were married in 1964 in Gilroy. He was a member of Sacred Heart/St. Benedict Church, The Teamsters Union and liked all sports, especially golf and bowling.

Edgar (Ed) Coffman

Edgar (Ed) Coffman passed away on November 26, 2006 at the age of 81. Born in Arkansas on April 25, 1925, Ed and his family moved to Gilroy when he was a teenager. Ed was a World War II veteran, and he was a member of the 101st Airborne Glider Infantry. He never lost his love of airplanes.

Theodore E. Bond

Theodore E. Bond died November 25, 2006 at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. He was born in Towanda, Kansas and moved to Davis, California with his parents in 1936. He and Freda Blaettler were married on Aug. 29, 1942. He served three years in World War II and received a Bronze Star for service above and beyond the call of duty. Upon his return he completed his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley. He also earned a Masters Degree at Iowa State University and a Doctor of Engineering degree from U.C. Davis. He worked for thirty one years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He traveled to many under developed countries around the world in regard to animal and human habitation. He encouraged the use of solar heating and also methods making animals more comfortable in warm countries. A joy of his life was jazz music. Ted played guitar in jazz bands over six decades. He will be missed for his quiet and gentle ways by his family and friends. Mr. Bond was a member of Gilroy Elks, SIRS and Gilroy Historical Society. His wife of 64 years, Freda Blaettler and sons Steven (Shari) Bond of Berkeley and Alan (Elaine) Bond of Oakland and grandchildren, Jesse Bond of Santa Cruz, and Maggie and Hannah Bond, who loved him dearly. He also is survived by three nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister Veronica Doane and a brother Fred Groeley

Cole C. Young

Passed away unexpectedly in San Juan Bautista. He was born in San Jose and lived in Hollister at the time of his death. Cole loved all kinds of music, was a wiz on a computer, but most of all Cole loved being with his family, friends and traveling. Cole graduated from Gilroy High School. He freelanced with many companies and most recently with Dark Star Communications in Illinois. Cole will be greatly missed by his friends and family. We love you, Cole.
