Legislation introduced capping severance pay for superintendents

Assemblymember Luis Alejo (D-Salinas) today introduced Assembly Bill 280, which places a three-month cap on the severance pay of a school district superintendent. Currently, when a superintendent’s contract of employment is terminated, he or she is eligible for a severance pay of up to 18 times their monthly salary, which can potentially be very costly.

MHUSD to expand in-person pilot program

Morgan Hill Unified School District opened some local elementary schools for limited in-person instruction for students and staff earlier this month, and on Nov. 17 the board of education voted unanimously to continue the “early return” pilot program.
