Melva Georgene Gerrity, 81, of Morgan Hill, CA, passed away quietly at home in the presence of her family, after a short bout with cancer, on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Melva was born in Mayfield on July 19, 1928 to Milton and Suzanne Slade. She attended Palo Alto High School and was married to Howard C. Gerrity on February 8, 1942. Melva and Howard moved from Palo Alto to Mountain View in 1955 and remained there until their retirement and move to Morgan Hill.
Melva is survived by her sisters, Lorraine Gerrity and Toni Irwin; three children and their spouses, Dennis and Diane Gerrity, Cheryl and Bill Farwell, and Kevin and Kim Gerrity; nine grandchildren, Chad Farwell, Chris Gerrity, Dustin Farwell, Jared Farwell, Kyle Gerrity, Jeffrey Gerrity, Danielle Gerrity, Rebecca Gerrity, and Jillian Gerrity; and six great-grandchildren, Austin Farwell, Logan Farwell, Justin Gerrity, Natalie Farwell, Layla Farwell, and Julianne Farwell.
