Sponsored locally by the Morgan Hill Police Department, National Night Out is designed to generate support for local law enforcement efforts, keep community members involved in productive activities, and heighten crime prevention awareness. Another goal is to organize neighborhoods to take a stand against crime, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer.

National Night Out will take place Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Morgan City Hall, 17555 Peak Ave. from 6 to 8 p.m.

Morgan Hill’s K-9 unit, consisting of Officer David Ray and Pax, will give a demo at 7 p.m. Free ice cream will be served by the Morgan Hill Community Law Enforcement Foundation.

National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event that is organized nationwide by the National Association of Town Watch.
