Mark Raymond Schneider February 14, 1932 - June 25, 2017

Mark R. Schneider passed away quietly on Sunday afternoon, June 25, 2017 after abrief illness, at age 85.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years Myrna M. Schneider (Mulcahy) and six children, Marcia Walden (Steve), Christine Pierson (Kim), Stacy Quibelan (Gary), Laura Petersen (Steve), Melissa Butera (Jim) and Martin Schneider (Beth). He was the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren Jacob and Joshua Brown; Shae, Brendan, Kyle, Bryce, and Madison Quibelan, Emma and Lily Petersen, Kennedy and Nick Bonnington, Vitale Butera and Benjamin Schneider and his four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Adam, Khloe, and Kai Quibelan. Mark is survived by his sister Eileen Brennen and sister-in-law Grace Schneider and several nieces and nephews from St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania.
 Mark is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Christina Mertz Schneider, sister Florence Piccolo and brother, L. Harrison Schneider.
 He was the loving caretaker of his two precious pets, Max and Frenchie who never left his side.
He was born and raised in St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania to Louis and Christina Schneider of Charles St. and always enjoyed his summer visits to his hometown to see family and friends.
He married his high school sweetheart and moved his family to San Jose, California in 1969 to further his career in the semiconductor industry. During his career at Fairchild Semiconductor, Intersil and LSI Logic he held 56 United States patents. He was named Inventor of the Year in 1992 while working at LSI Logic.
He traveled all over the world during his career and enjoyed sharing multiple stories that involved his travels and golfing adventures during this time. Upon retiring, he and his wife moved from their family home to enjoy living on a golf course where Mark played daily. He would sometime “call in sick” if he wasn’t able to come in and golf for a day. In the afternoons you could often find him walking and playing with his beloved dogs. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling on several different cruises throughout his retirement years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:30pm at Our Lady’s Chapel (St. Mary Church) in Gilroy.
Interment will be at a future date in his hometown of St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania.
