a display in the library lobby in honor of this 228th anniversary.

Making the Corps by Thomas E. Ricks The story of sixty-three recruits from home to boot camp and the legendary experience of basic training under the drill instructors of Parris Island.
Three-War Marine: The Pacific, Korea, Vietnam by Francis Fox Parry Autobiography of Parry’s thirty-year career with the marines through three wars.
Once a Legend: “Red Mike” Edson of the Marine Raiders by Jon T. Hoffman. A humanistic biography of the thirty-year marine who was described as courageous and fearless.
The Marines and You by Dorothy Hole For children, a book discussing the Marines and what it is like to join this branch of the armed forces.
