On Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9am to noon there will be a registration table for the Winter session of the South County Basketball Association at the Britton Middle School gym.

The cost is $85 for a returning players and $105 for a player who needs a jersey.

For any application postmarked after Nov. 26, add $20.

Applications available at www.scbabasketball.org or by calling 779-8325. The skills clinics will be held Dec. 4, and games begin Jan. 10.

Mt. Madonna YMCA Youth Basketball Registration Underway

Youth basketball league registration for boys and girls ages 2-16 has begun at Mt. Madonna YMCA located at 17666 Crest Avenue in Morgan Hill.

The registration deadline is Dec. 19.

Youth basketball league games are played every Saturday from Jan. 8 through March 12 at YMCA and local facilities. Practice sessions once a week are scheduled by coaches for ages 7 and up.

Saturday game times will be announced by YMCA volunteer-coaches.

The registration fees for youth basketball are $45 for facility members and $65 for program members. A free youth basketball T-shirt is included in the registration fee.

Youth will learn the basic skills of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Leagues emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, fair play, respect for others and fun.

Each child is guaranteed equal playing time in every game. Participants must provide their own tennis shoes.

YMCA memberships and programs are open to the public. The annual membership fee is $25. Scholarships are available through contributions and individuals and families may apply by contacting the Mt. Madonna YMCA.

Rams Casino Night

Back by popular demand, the second Annual Rams Casino Night returns Nov. 12.

LO roller hockey pulls out another victory

Live Oak beat a tough Mtn. View team 8-5 on Friday night. On offense, sophomore Kyle Dutra scored half of the goals and had one assist and sophomore Brian Costello scored the other half. Junior defender Ricky Lasher had two assists, while sophomores Scott Alexander and Conner Williamson each had also added two assists.

In the second half, Live Oak had a skater in the penalty box and Mtn. View pulled their goalie to create a 5-on-3 advantage in an attempt to tie the game. But sophmores Dutra, Costello, and Alexander worked the puck clear and scored to clinch the victory.
