Al, as he was known, was born June 10, 1953, in Gilroy to Harold and Barbara Baird. He attended local grammar schools and graduated from Live Oak High School in 1971 and then CalPoly San Luis Obispo.

He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, horseback riding and reading. Al recently retired, due to health problems, from CB Tool and Supply in San Jose where he was a machinist.

Besides his two grieving cats, Al leaves behind his parents Harold and Barbara of Madrone; siblings Sally Miller of Mt. Hamilton, Joann Baird, Janet Burback and Johne Baird all of Madrone; and nieces and nephews Megan and Kacie Miller of Mt Hamilton, Taylor and Thomas Burback and Steven Baird, all of Madrone.

As per his wishes, arrangements were made for cremation with private services. Contributions can be made to a favorite charity.
