write-in candidate for the Democratic Party from Congressional
District 11 on March 2.
I am proud to advise your readers that there is now a write-in candidate for the Democratic Party from Congressional District 11 on March 2. Jerry McNerney of Pleasanton has stepped forward as a reasonable alternative to Republican
Richard Pombo of Tracy. In order to appear on the November ballot, 1,740 Democrats must take the time to write-in his name when they submit their ballots in the March Primary.
McNerney is a lifelong Democrat, a PhD mathematician, a wind energy engineer and local business entrepreneur. He worked in national security as a contractor to Sandia National Laboratories and is an acknowledged expert in renewable energy. He is married with three grown children.
McNerney believes strongly in protecting our environment by upholding the Endangered Species Act and re-establishing pre-Bush environmental safeguards on air quality and water standards. He would much better represent my opinions and values in Washington than does Mr. Pombo.
I ask all Democrats to please join me in writing the name Jerry McNerney for U.S. Reprsentative Eleventh Congressional District.
