William Ralph Tomlin January 3, 1950 – September 27, 2013

A Memorial Service will be held at Johnson Funeral home in Morgan Hill, CA on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 2:00 P.M.
 “Bill” William Ralph Tomlin, 63 of Santa Cruz, CA passed away on September 27, 2013, at Kaiser Medical Center in Santa Clara, CA. He was born on January 3rd, 1950 in Storm Lake, IA; the son of “Kay” Kathryn (Evans) Tomlin and “Bob” Robert Tomlin. Bill moved with his family to Saratoga CA in 1959. He was a graduate of Saratoga High School.
 Bill worked at the family swimming pool business, in the oil fields in Saudi Arabia and owned his business, Kay’s Atlas Pool Center with his family and later with his partner, David E. Holdaway of T & H Pools, where Bill worked as a technician.
 Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Kay and Bob Tomlin; his brother “Bob” Robert Tomlin; sister, Barbara Tomlin and life partner, Sonia J. Woodruff.
 He is survived by daughter Janette Woodruff, Norfolk, VA; nephew Jeff Hopkins; niece “Kay K” Kirsten Caravalho, Morgan Hill, CA; Kay K’s two children: Justine Kathryn Ramirez, Aiden William Caravalho; and many devoted loving friends of long standing.
 Bill was a very kind, gentle, honest man. In his work he was professional, considerate and well qualified. Bill most enjoyed living in his home in Santa Cruz and being with his friends, which he was able to do for most of his life. He was a generous man, known to “give you the shirt off his back” as he had literally done often times since childhood.
 While he makes his journey to be embraced by those waiting on the other side, there are numerous friends and family who will greatly miss him.
