Victor C. Puppo, born July 24, 1920 in Madrone California “Morgan Hill” on that day the population increased to 41. Victor attended Live Oak School District and was President of the Local Future Farmers of America. In 1942 he joined the Air Force. During his service, he planted and grew what was known as the “Victory Garden” in Stockton Fields, this garden supplied all the vegetables for the armed forces stationed in that area.
On September 14, 1947, he married the love of his life Mary Moreno and built his home in Morgan Hill. Victor was a farmer in the Coyote area, where he had orchards of prunes, pears, apricots and walnuts for more than 50 years. In 1952 he joined the MH Kiwanis where he went on to become their President in 1957, he was also an active member of the Fish & Game, MH Duck Hunters Association, FBI “Full Blooded Italians” and the Elks.
Victor loved golf and was a charter member of the Riverside Golf Course where he shot his first hole in one. His second hole in one was in Lake Havasu City, AZ this shot won him $5000.00 in prize money.
Victor was proud to call Morgan Hill his home for 96 years.
