The family would appreciate donations to either Emmaus House in Hollister, CA, or Hospice of the Valley in San Jose, CA. Private interment will be in West Point, CA.
 Verla Green passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2013, with her large and caring family at her side. She is survived by her three sons and their wives: Harland and Candace, Gayle and Sharon, and Laddie and Christine, as well as ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
 Verla was preceded in death by her husband Elden and her son Michael.
  Born in Portland, OR, Verla grew up in Los Angeles, CA. There she met her husband while still in high school, and soon started her family.
 She later moved to West Point, CA where the family lived until 1957. The family then moved to Palo Alto, CA where they resided until her four boys were raised.
 At retirement, Verla and Elden moved to Sunnyvale, CA for a short time before finally settling in their home on Ridgemark Golf Course in Hollister, CA.
 Verla was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Palo Alto and Trinity Lutheran in Hollister. She always found time to support others in her community; volunteering as an elementary school aide, visiting patients at the local VA Hospital, working with the hospital auxiliary, and giving emotional and material support to myriad family, friends, and organizations in their time of need.
 Verla will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
