It’s not what we feed the baby barn owl, it’s how. Volunteers at the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center wrap the squirming, screaming little raptor in a towel “burrito-style”. This method keeps them safe from its sharp talons and allows one person to maintain control while feeding it pieces of rodents with forceps. It can sometimes be a messy process, and after feeding time is over, baby needs its face and beak washed up.
VTA to replace paper tickets with “Clipper” cards
In an effort to save time for passengers and go paperless, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will replace all paper transit passes with the regional electronic Clipper card, according to a VTA press release.

GOLF: Frys.com Open to lead off 2013 PGA Tour season
In March, the Frys.com Open took a major step toward becoming a full-fledged event when PGA commissioner Tim Finchem announced the tour’s policy board approved two significant changes – the Nationwide Tour becoming the primary path to a PGA Tour card, and the tour season’s start moving from January to October in 2013.
Community services director named finalist for city manager job in Wisconsin
Steve Rymer, the City of Morgan Hill’s Community Services Director, has been named one of three finalists for the vacant city manager job in Eau Claire, Wisc., according to a press release sent out by the City of Eau Claire.
