A man stole two diamond rings Monday afternoon from the Ultra Diamond Outlet and fled in a green Ford Ranger.

At 3:49 p.m., witnesses observed a man driving back and forth in front of the Ultra Diamond Outlet, 8325 Arroyo Circle.

The man then entered the store, chatted with the female clerk and asked to see a ring from the display case, according to a police press release. When the clerk handed the man the ring, he asked to see a second ring. He then struck her in the abdomen and pulled the second ring off her finger.

The clerk did not require immediate medical attention, police said.

The man fled to his truck and was last seen driving northbound on U.S. 101.

The rings had a combined value at about $11,500, police said.

Witnesses said the man had Asian characters tattooed on both inner forearms and the letter “A” tattooed on his chest. The man was 25 to 27 years old, had brown hair and weighed about 180 pounds, witnesses told police.
