Resident of Gilroy, Ca. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 90. Robert “Bob” was born in Gridley, Ca. along with his twin sister Betty. As a young child, his family moved to their ranch in Live Oak, Ca. where they would reside for many years farming peaches and creating wonderful family memories for their children and grandchildren to cherish. As a WWII Army Air Corp veteran officer, he was proud to serve his country and enjoyed his favorite aircraft the P-38 Fighter. After the war, he continued to fly until moving to Santa Clara, Ca in the early 1950’s. He raised a family and worked at Lockheed Missiles and Space for 30 years before retiring and moving back to his hometown of Gridley, Ca. During retirement, he enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping and gardening. He raised wonderful fruits and vegetables, canning them for all to enjoy. He spent his last 5 years in Gilroy, Ca. close to his family and living each day to ride his scooter around town and spend time enjoying his children and grandchildren. He was seen by friends and family at every sporting event cheering on his grandchildren and the team. He was a loving father and proud grandfather bringing so much joy their lives.
 He is survived by his daughter Beverly Quinby and son-in law Pete Quinby of Gilroy, Ca., and four grandchildren Damien Chaparro, BreAnna Chaparro, Paul Quinby and Mark Quinby. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Clyve and Ruth McGinnis, brother Donald McGinnis and wife Mary, sister Betty Doxtater and husband Burton, daughter Sharon McGinnis Chaparro, daughter Judy McGinnis, and wife of 35 years Constance “Connie” Wangberg McGinnis.
