Three people who might have been armed robbed a store that sells eyeglasses Thursday afternoon, police said.

Morgan Hill police responded to Your Eye’s Image at 419 Vineyard Town Center about 1:39 p.m., in response to a call reporting a possible armed robbery, according to Sgt. Shane Palsgrove.

When officers arrived, the female store clerk told them that an unknown Asian male adult approached the counter, Palsgrove said. The man pulled up his shirt as if to expose a weapon in his waistband. The clerk did not see a weapon.

The clerk then noticed another Asian male adult who was emptying a display stand of about $8,000 worth of name brand eyeglasses into a bag, police said. The clerk ran to the back of the store and told another employee they were being robbed.

The suspects ran out of the store and were chased by a customer who was inside the store. They entered a silver four-door Mercedes, where a third suspect was waiting, Palsgrove said.

The suspects were described as an Asian male adult about 5-feet, 3-inches tall and about 150 pounds, with a shaved head and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, and possibly armed; and an Asian male adult about 6-feet tall, 150 pounds, with dark “spiky” hair and an unknown clothing description.

No one was injured in the robbery, Palsgrove said.

The robbery is still under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident may call Morgan Hill police at (408) 779-2101 or the anonymous tip line at (408) 947-7867.
