n Many northbound commuters on U.S. 101 were late for work Wednesday morning when a pickup overturned after clipping the back of a truck rig just north of the Tennant Avenue overcrossing, slowing traffic to a crawl for almost two hours. The accident occurred at 5:45am when a pickup driven by Marvin W. Pack, 36, of Madera, hit the rear of the truck driven by Randall L. Myers, 48, of Tulare, CHP Officer Chris Gallego said. The slow and middle lanes of traffic were blocked by Pack’s truck, which came to rest on its top, until 7:21am. Northbound traffic was limited to one lane until the pickup was towed away. The backup on U.S. 101, which extended to Leavesley Road in Gilroy, resulted in many drivers using Monterey Road. Traffic along Monterey backed up from San Martin Avenue until the accident scene was cleared. Pack, who was seat-belted, suffered cuts and bruises and complained of pain to a knee. He was released from Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy after treatment. Gallego said Pack reported blacking out as he was moving into the middle lane from the slow lane.
