Elizabeth is the daughter of Jim and Peggy Conner of Lakeville, Minn. She is a 2001 graduate of Milligan College, Johnson City, Tenn. with a B.A. in marketing. She is employed in San Diego by Patterson Dental.
Justin is the son of Keith and Karen Higgins of Gilroy. He is a 1999 Gilroy High School graduate. He also graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2001 with a B.A. in management information systems. He is employed in San Diego by Tierranet.
The couple is planning a garden wedding at the bride’s parents home in Lakeville, Minn. for May 28. A reception is also being planned for June 18 in Gilroy.
The couple is planning to have their honeymoon on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Michele Nicholson and Mike Marini became engaged Christmas day of 2004. Michele is the oldest daughter of Bruce and Patty Nicholson. She is the granddaughter of John and Bernice Marfia and Allan and Lillian Nicholson. She graduated from San Jose State University in the spring of 2004. She is employed with Heritage Bank of Commerce. Mike is the oldest son of Ed and Nancy Marini. He graduated from San Jose State University in the spring of 2004 and the South Bay Regional Fire Academy in December 2004. He is currently self-employed. The couple will be married July 1 at St. Mary’s Church.
Yamaoka-Cordice
Mr. and Mrs. David and Michaelle Yamaoka are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison N. Yamaoka to Shakir H. Cordice, son of Sandra Williams of St. Croix, U.S Virgin Islands. The wedding will take place Nov. 5 in Santa Rosa.
The couple met in San Luis Obispo, where Shakir received his B.S. in graphic communications at Cal Poly. They later moved to the Bay Area, where Allison attended San Francisco State University and studied fine arts. Shakir and Allison currently reside in Santa Rosa.

Merrill-Spencer
Rebecca Merrill and Keith Spencer were married Oct. 2 at St. Mary Parish.
Rebecca is the daughter of Kim and Christine Merrill of Gilroy. She is a 1996 graduate of Mt. Madonna High School and earned a CNA certificate from Gavilan College. She is a program director for Merrill Living Services in Gilroy.
Keith is the son of Mark and Patty Spencer of Gilroy. He is a 1998 graduate of Gilroy High School and attended Gavilan and Mission Colleges. He received Firefighter I from Hartnell College in June of 2003. He is now a United States Coast Guard.
The maid of honor was Kimberly Merrill, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Nicole Shropshire, Monica Piedmont, Jennifer Puente, Chenine Kleder, Karli Silacci, Julie Miller, all friends of the bride, and Kristen Spencer, sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaids included Haylee Merrill and Zaira Aahz, nieces of the bride, and Anastasia Bunthoff, cousin of the bride. Mikaela Silacci and Gabriella Miller, friends of the bride, served as flower girls.
The best man was Adam Jones, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Gary Perry, Mark Wells, Daniel Lozano, Jeffery Puente, all friends of the groom, and Samuel Sepulveda, brother-in-law of the bride, and Christopher Merrill, brother of the bride. Luke Spencer, godson of the groom, and Carter Sepulveda, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearers.
Special attendants included Connie Velasquez, Lori Woisin, Missy Piedmont and Donna Piedmont. A reception was attended by 250 guests at the Elk’s Lodge in Gilroy.
The couple spent their honeymoon on a cruise to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Cozumel. They live in Gilroy.
Yip-Cooper
Rae-Anne Yip of Gilroy and Joseph Cooper of San Jose were married Nov. 14 at St. Martin Church of Sunnyvale.
Rae-Anne is the daughter of Debra and Creighton Yip and the granddaughter of Rose Yip of Stockton and Velma Fachin of Gilroy. She is a graduate of Gilroy High School and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is employed by Pro-Path, Inc. in Hayward.
Joseph is the son of Kim and Bob Cooper and the grandson of Norma Roudabush of Placerville. He is a graduate of Pioneer High School, UCLA and is employed by Stryker in San Jose. Rae-Anne’s maid of honor was Annemarie Zurborg, and Joseph’s best man was Jason Seeba.
Following their honeymoon, the couple has made their home in Dublin, Calif. They wish to thank their families for all their support.
Brown-Martens
Lori (Perkins) Brown and Dane Martens, both of Gilroy, were married Feb. 12. Lori is the daughter of Marie Perkins and the late Ed Perkins of Gilroy. She graduated from Gilroy High School and is employed by Temple-Inland. Dane is the son of Sari Martens and the late Roy and Helen Martens of San Francisco. He is employed by Cisco Systems.
A late afternoon ceremony took place in South Lake Tahoe, overlooking snow capped mountains. The bride was given away by her mother and her brother, Robert Perkins. The couple shared their vows, uniting both families, while surrounded by family and close friends.
The maid of honor was Jeanie Hannibal, longtime friend of the bride. Anna and Kasey Perkins, nieces of the bride, performed the duties of flower girls.
The best man was Dan Rose and the groomsman was Rick Rose, Dan’s son. Both men are hunting and fishing buddies of the groom for many years.
After the ceremony, the couple, friends and family enjoyed a seafood buffet. The couple spent their honeymoon with their children on a family snow trip, including snow mobiling and snowboarding. They have made their home in Gilroy.

Rene and Suzette Martinez celebrated their 15 years of marriage on May 5, 2005, creating an interesting coincidence in the date – fifth month, fifth day and fifth year since the millennium multiplied by three equals 15. The couple were wed in Monterey in 1990 and have three children.
