Morgan Hill police interrupted a residential burglary and arrested three suspects last week after an observant resident reported suspicious behavior in the neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded to a home on the 15200 block of Bellini Way about 11:30 a.m. last Thursday, April 4, in response to a neighbor’s phone call reporting a man had just jumped over a fence into the backyard of the victim’s residence, according to Morgan Hill Police Det. Mindy Zen. The suspect was reportedly associated with two additional suspects and a silver BMW which was seen casing the neighborhood.

When officers arrived to investigate they located two 17-year-old Hispanic males in the backyard of the victim’s home, Zen said. The two juveniles attempted to flee and resisted arrest when contacted by the officers.

A third suspect, later identified as Diego Dominguez, 18, was contacted by officers at the same time as he sat in the silver BMW acting as the lookout.

During the investigation, police determined that a screen had recently been removed from a window to the rear of the victim residence, police said. Other unidentified evidence was found at the scene.

All three suspects were positively identified to the silver BMW that was earlier seen casing the neighborhood, Zen said. All three were arrested.

Dominguez was on probation for burglary and was booked at Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, soliciting a minor to commit a crime and violation of probation, according to authorities.

The two juvenile suspects were booked at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and resisting arrest, Zen said. All three suspects are San Jose residents.
