Found property

Someone found an unloaded revolver handgun in a dumpster enclosure outside the Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road. The item was reported found at 3:13pm Jan. 15.

Accident

A Morgan Hill Unified school bus with 15 students aboard hit a dog in the area of Morning Star Drive and Savannah Court. The accident was reported at 7:19am Jan. 22.

Uncontrollable juvenile

An uncontrollable juvenile was reported at Ann Sobrato High School, 401 Burnett Ave., at 10:30am Jan. 22.

Stolen vehicle

A white Dodge Ram that was previously stolen was located in the area of Butterfield Boulevard and Monterey Road, with someone passed out in the driver’s seat. Police responded, and the subject woke up and tried to flee the area. The suspect crashed into a light pole and was subsequently arrested. Police determined the male suspect had warrants out for his arrest. The incident was reported at 2:59pm Jan. 16.

As police attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle on Condit Road, the car’s occupants ran away on foot. Officers caught up with and arrested the driver, who had warrants for his arrest. The passenger was not immediately located by police. The incident occurred at 11:41pm Jan. 16.

A thief or thieves stole a white 1996 Ford F250 truck with ladder racks from the Walmart parking lot, 170 Cochrane Plaza. The theft was reported at 5:33pm Jan. 18.

Auto burglary

Four suspects were seen trying to break into a Honda Accord on Burnett Avenue. The owner of the vehicle was inside the car when the suspect approached. The vehicle owner blew the car’s horn to scare the burglars away. Police later stopped the suspects’ vehicle and arrested three occupants on suspicion of vandalism and burglary. The incident was reported at 2:55am Jan. 17.

A thief or thieves broke into a Toyota Corolla parked on Hale Avenue. The crime was reported at 7:54pm Jan. 22.

Someone stole tools from a white Dodge 5500 truck parked on La Alameda Drive. The burglary was reported at 4:12am Jan. 20.

A thief or thieves smashed the window of a GMC Yukon parked at TJ Maxx, 401 Vineyard Town Center Way, and stole unspecified items. The crime was reported at 2:22pm Jan. 15.

Grand theft

Someone stole about $1,900 worth of headphones from Walmart, 170 Cochrane Plaza. The theft was reported at 9:50am Jan. 17.

Fraud

Someone tried to pass a fake prescription for codeine at CVS pharmacy, 16995 Walnut Grove Drive. The crime was reported at 1:37pm Jan. 22.

A thief or thieves forged a victim’s check for a loss of $631. The crime was reported at 10:30am Jan. 18.

Battery

Two suspects assaulted two men who caught them stealing from the victims’ work truck on Condit Road. The suspects got away with an air compressor. The crime was reported at 12:31pm Jan. 18.

Reckless vehicle

A witness observed about five or six cars spinning doughnuts and racing in the Target parking lot, 1061 Cochrane Road. The recklessness was reported at 11:11pm Jan. 18.

At least two vehicles were seen spinning doughnuts in the downtown parking structure, 50 E. Third St. The incident was reported at 11:57pm Jan. 18.

Burglary

A burglar or burglars broke into and ransacked a home on West Middle Avenue. The homeowner thought the perpetrators entered the home through a dog door. The crime was reported at 12:59pm Jan. 15.
