Patrick M. Arata
Hollister, Ca. – Patrick was born and grew up in San Jose, Ca., the second son of James Sr. and Margory Arata. He attended St. Francis College Prep and Wm. Overfelt High Schools, graduating in 1965, also attending San Jose State University, majoring in business. He served 6 years in the Marine Corps reserves with an honorable discharge in 1971.
Maria deAvila Leon
Maria de Avila Leon, 89, of Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, was called home by our Heavenly Father on August 26, 2010. Maria is survived by her husband of 48 years, Emilio Leon. She was blessed with three children, Victor Leon, Rosario Marlow and Laurentina Leon Burns, and 14 loving grandchildren, Blanca Sanchez, Yolanda Correa, the late Fernando Leon, Victor Leon, Jr., Elvira Bustillos, Veronica Torres, Abraham Leon, Elizabeth Leon, Alejandro Leon Marlow, Angelina Leon Marlow, Giovanni Leon Marlow, Christopher Leon Burns, Nicolas Leon Burns and Adrian Leon Burns. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and numerous additional family members and friends.
James Leon Porter September 12, 1953 – June 29, 2012
James Leon Porter, known to everyone as “Jim” passed away June 29 at the age of 58 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho of heart failure.
Yoneo Hatakeyama
Yoneo Hatakeyama was born in Blanco, CA on Feb. 16, 1917. Shortly after birth, Yoneo's father, Seitaro, ironically after surviving two wars in Japan, was killed in an auto accident. His mother, Asame, decided to bring the family back to Japan. At the age of 16, Yoneo returned to the Salinas Valley. During WWII, he enlisted in the US Army, where he learned his trade as a dental lab tech. He married Betsy Hayashi on Oct., 16 1946, after she was released from Internment Camp at Poston, Arizona. They settled in Fresno for 34 years. Yoneo entered peacefully into Nirvana on Oct. 19, 2007 in Morgan Hill, CA at the age of 90, after 28 fulfilling years in Morgan Hill. He is survived by wife Betsy, children Dr. Jon (Shelly) Hatakeyama - their children Evan, Vanessa, Brent, and Vincent; Steven (Becky) Hatakeyama - their children Bryce and Stevie; and daughter, Mia (Glenn) Hatakeyama Rivera.
