Public hearing tonight on saving energy at MHUSD

Morgan Hill

A public hearing will be held tonight to address how the Morgan Hill Unified School District is saving energy among its 13 campuses.

Since 2007, MHUSD has focused on updating Martin Murphy Middle School’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and retrofitting the lighting and classroom thermostats at Live Oak High School. The district has spent an estimated $1,449,610 on the projects since 2007. The annual energy savings will recoup the cost of the projects over 20 years and result in a net savings of $175,582, according to the district.

At the 6 p.m. meeting at 15600 Concord Circle, Director of facilities Anessa Pasillas will answer questions about the district’s energy use and the board will be asked to adopt a resolution that authorizes the district office to fulfill its terms with the energy services contract.
