Teachers to host third annual community event
The Morgan Hill Federation of Teachers will host its Third Annual Friends & Family Festival from 11am to 3pm April 21 at Nordstrom Elementary School, 1425 E. Dunne Ave. The free event for families includes activity booths, entertainment, community information booths and raffle prizes. Food is also available for purchase.
Local students find different ways to address gun violence
Almost all of the Ann Sobrato High School students who participated, one way or another, in the April 20 National Gun Violence Walkout Day were not even born when 13 people lost their lives in the 1999 Columbine High School massacre.
Los Paseos Elementary School News
Los Paseos Elementary School students planted 21 new shade trees on the campus last week. The trees were donated by Our City Forest, a non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating an "urban forest" in the city of San Jose. Our City Forest also provided expert guidance in how to properly plant, stake and care for the trees.
School trustee injured in pedestrian-auto accident
A board of education trustee for Morgan Hill Unified School District is in the hospital Feb. 27, recovering from serious injuries one day after being hit by a car while walking his two dogs in the Paradise Valley neighborhood.
Live Oak Foundation distributes $45k in grant money
The Live Oak Foundation, a community organization founded to promote academic excellence in the Morgan Hill Unified School District, distributed $45,000 in grant money for the 2015-16 school year.
