Gavilan College will host its Eighth Annual Film Showcase from 6-8:30pm April 26 at the theater on the Gilroy campus. The free event will feature about 25 student films and finish with an awards presentation for outstanding filmmaking achievements.

Policy subcommittee among May 2 school board agenda items
A third discussion on the board policy subcommittee will open the general business for the May 2 board of education meeting—an oddly contentious item that has previously inspired hours of debate among trustees.
Student of the Week: Guadalupe Munoz
Each month, the principals of Live Oak and Sobrato high schools choose a "Student of the Week" (two from each high school per month). Live Oak senior Guadalupe Munoz, 18, is this week's Student of the Week. She's also our last Student of the Week for the 2012-13 school year.
Los Paseos Elementary School News
Los Paseos Elementary School students planted 21 new shade trees on the campus last week. The trees were donated by Our City Forest, a non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating an "urban forest" in the city of San Jose. Our City Forest also provided expert guidance in how to properly plant, stake and care for the trees.
