Dear Editor, Well, the election
’s over and as another year has just come to an end, we realize
that caring for homeless, stray, and feral cats is hard yet
rewarding work. We volunteers at Town Cats – a nonprofit, no-kill
adoption shelter and feral advocacy organization – devote many
hours of our personal time helping homeless
cats because we love them and want to improve their lives. We
make a difference every day, one life at a time.

We volunteers at Town Cats – a nonprofit, no-kill adoption shelter and feral advocacy organization – devote many hours of our personal time helping homeless cats because we love them and want to improve their lives. We make a difference every day, one life at a time.
Did you notice in the past election how many animal issues were mentioned? Well, you can bet we noticed. It was none, zilch, nada. Yet about 7 million cats, dogs, puppies and kittens are being put to sleep each year in the USA simply because of lack of homes. Talk about right to life.
Too many people don’t spay and neuter their pets and too many are still breeding pets purposely although they don’t have homes for them.
We work aggressively to find homes for homeless pets and hear from local shelters daily pleading with us to please come get the cats and dogs from their facilities.
We do have much to be thankful for as residents of Santa Clara County. Our county has set aside finds in their budget for low-cost spay and neuter of feral and stray cats and dogs, and the city of San Jose will also provide low-cost spays and neuters this spring.
