Both the Morgan Hill National B and American A Mustang All-Star teams lost their opening games of the Section tournament held at Britton School.
The two teams will meet Friday at 5:30 p.m. to decide who will continue on in the tournament.
The American A team got off to an early lead against Los Altos but was unable to hold on to the lead.
The team eventually lost in seven inning by one run in what turned out to be a classic slugfest.
The championships of the five-team tournament is on Monday. An extra game will be played on Tuesday night if needed.
