Vietnam veteran Eddie Bowers will conduct the annual Memorial Day event at 9am sharp at the Downtown War Memorial (in the Monterey Road median at First Street).
The program begins with the raising of the flag. This year, it will be WWII veteran Fred Ponzini’s flag. Karen Crane and her school children will sing patriotic songs followed by a prayer from Neighborhood Bible Church Associate Pastor Ben Palm. The honor roll will be read by Armando Garcia, followed by the laying of the wreaths by James Gray and Tony Stafford. Steve Johnson will conclude the ceremony with Taps.
