Maurice W. “Mo” Olson passed away peacefully Saturday May 27, 2017 surrounded by family and his wife Virginia “Geni”.
Mo was born in Minot, North Dakota on December 22, 1931, to Walter and Ellen Olson. He had three older siblings John, Inez and Jimmy. They later moved to Palo Alto, California where he met Donna O’Neal and they were married April 1, 1949. Mo served with the Army Corps of Engineers in Korea and received a Bronze Star.
Mo and Donna had five children. They lived in Morgan Hill and were part owners in ShellWorth-Olson Chevrolet until 1977 when they moved to Arcata, CA and were sole owners of P.C. Sacchi Inc. Donna passed away in 1996. Mo met Virginia “Geni” White and they were married May 2, 1998. After both retiring, Mo and Geni moved to Arizona until 2015 when they moved to Cottonwood, CA. Mo was a member of Kiwanis International for many years in Morgan Hill and Arcata.
Mo is survived by his wife Virginia “Geni” Olson, brother John Olson, son Steve (Lori) Olson, daughter Christine (Bill) Paulsen, son Bobby Olson (Celene), daughter Nancy (Chris) Spallino, step daughter Debby (Jim) Bunting, fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two more to deliver soon.
He was preceded in death by his son Douglas, father Walter, wife Donna, brother Jimmy, sister Inez, mother Ellen and many dear friends.
Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at Merryman’s Beach House in Trinidad,CA. Saturday June 10, 2017, 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Donations in Mo’s honor can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Mercy Hospice in Redding, CA.
