Mary Margerite Price was born in Los Angeles on August 2, 1925. She resided in Morgan Hill 53 years. Mary died at home July 24, 2007. She was the sole survivor of six born to Ernst & Selma Jenewein. Mary’s family came from Minnesota where they had a butcher shop. Mary survived her husband Warren (1964) and son William (1990). Mary is survived by her children; Winferd, Warrenette, Nathan and David II, daughter-in-laws, and special brother-in-law David I. She has five grandchildren; Christopher, Jamie, Wavel, David III, Joseph; and three great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by numerous cousins, including Lyle & Virginia, and nieces and nephews. Her special long-time friends include Eliza Henninger-Anderson, Avis Dunworth, Manzanita Chapter Eastern Star, IO Rainbow Girls and Hillview Convalescent staff.
Mary graduated from Monte Vista in Watsonville where she also taught after attending college. She worked for May Company, Daily Racing Form, Carr’s Answering Service, Live Oak High School and Santa Clara County. Mary was an advocate for education, an excellent seamstress, and supported her children in music, sports and 4-H, encouraging them to get as much education as they felt they needed, never pressuring them to pursue a career or life path of her choice. She was an excellent supportive mother, teaching her children to love and enjoy life, not compromising to others’ ideals. She understood the personal needs of each child, showing them how to live life with integrity, honesty, peace and happiness. Mary was creative, musical, literate, articulate and resourceful. Her hobbies were: traveling with grandchildren, Scrabble, Cribbage and doing crosswords in record time.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill.
