Maria Botello Rangel died from heart complications Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at San Francisco Kaiser Hospital. She was 74.

Maria was a native of Zacatecas, Mexico. She moved to Gilroy in 1965 from Ft. Worth, Texas. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking and cooking wonderful Mexican food.

She was the loving mother of Gloria Ledesma, Antonio B. Rangel, Amelia R. Diaz, Elizabeth Dowler, Virginia Vasquez, Blanca R. Vasquez, Alice Haro, Rosemary Morales, Agustin Rangel Jr., Samuel Rangel, Humberto Rangel and Robert Rangel; grandmother of 31; and great-grandmother of 14. She also is survived by many sons- and daughters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Agustin D. Rangel.

Visitation takes place at noon with funeral services at 2pm on Saturday, May 7, at Habing Family Funeral Home.
