Marcia Lee Linden passed peacefully at home in Gilroy surrounded by family and friends on Saturday September 5, 2009. She put up a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer for the past eight months.

She worked in the dentistry field for many years and as a dental hygienist for Dr. Edward Vines in Gilroy most recently. Through her worked she met many different people and always knew the latest Gilroy news. It seemed like she knew most of Gilroy through her work, and she loved getting to know all of her patients.

Many will remember her as an avid 4-H leader, FFA Booster, member of the San Martin Horseman’s Association, and Pine Ridge Association. She touched many young lives in her roles, and loved teaching children about horses, dairy cows, sheep, chickens, food preservation, and any other group that needed a leader. Never one to stand by, she volunteered whenever the need arose, and always was willing to lend a helping hand.

She is survived by her husband Gregory Linden, daughters Melissa (Brian) Driscoll, Heidi Linden, Staci Linden, granddaughters Kaylee Heron, Holly Driscoll, Kendall Driscoll, mother Patricia Mercer, sisters Karen Ziegert, Linda Mercer, Nancy Mercer, along with many cousins, two nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Mercer.

At her request there will be a mass held Thursday September 10, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church in Gilroy, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the San Martin Animal Shelter. Arrangements by Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
