A private gathering of family and friends is planned to celebrate her life. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to Sutter VNA and Hospice, 1900 Powell Street, Suite 300, Ermeryville, CA 94608.

 Lorraine Bourdet Mackenzie passed away with courage and grace on April 8th, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born on September 5, 1947, in Covina, CA; she attended Los Alamos Grade School, Santa Ynez Valley High School and graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Lorraine grew up on her family’s ranch where she developed a deep love for nature and the outdoors. In the early 1970s she moved to Sonoma County where she worked for the Sonoma County Co-op and EcoNet. In 1991 she opened Natural Connections, a store that became an integral part of the downtown community of Occidental. In later years she greatly enjoyed hiking and birding with her friends. Lorraine was a quiet, kind, loving, capable and humorous person. She enjoyed life, nature, her friendships, her work, visiting with family and being “Aunt Rennie” to her siblings’ children and grandchildren. She is remembered with love by sister DeeCee, brother-in-law Bill Donati, brothers Jeff and John Bourdet and sister-in-law Tina, numerous family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
