Acorns Defeat First Place Santa Teresa to Capture League Roller
Hockey Title
The Live Oak Roller Hockey team faced off against the first place Santa Teresa team on Friday night and came up with a 10-7 win and the title of League Champions.
Live Oak defeated Santa Teresa when they faced each other during the
regular season but were unable to do it again until Friday night.Â
Live Oak played one of their best games yet to capture the league crown. Everyone was on top of their game. They were there to win.
The team has a lot of heart and has fun playing. The teamwork and passing on offense proved effective against the Santa Teresa team.Â
Joining the team for this game was long time teammate senior
Robert Kotval who started off the scoring for Live Oak. Senior Dustin Holt returned from injury to score for goals for the Acorns.Â
Senior Chase Norman added two goals and junior Conner Williamson also had two goals for Live Oak. Junior Brian Costello knocked one in as well.
Junior Scott Alexander had one assist and along with his teammates played tough on defense.
Santa Teresa had to work hard to score. Junior Tyler Damron’s game was solid, making several key plays and sophmore Michael Widergren contributed to the win with solid plays on offense and defense. Â
Strong in the net, making key saves against the persistant Santa Teresa
offense to clinch the title for Live oak, was seniro goalie Ricky Lasher.
Live Oak will begin their second season in January. Â
