Morgan Hill – Live Oak roller hockey is set to get underway and returning for their fourth year representing the Acorns on the rink are seniors Scott Alexander, Brian Costello, Conner Williamson and Kyle Dutra. New to the team last year and returning this year is senior Tyler Damron and junior Michael Widergren.
New additions to the team are freshmen Daniel Daly and Christian Simonsen and juniors Ryan Listol and Kyle Rosenzweig.
Over the last three years, the team has earned Live Oak several championships and has been consistantly ranked among the top-5 teams of the nearly 40 high schools that participate. The team has had its share of growing pains, starting with the loss of half their team when Sobrato opened and following with yearly graduations of seniors.
But every year the team has managed to put together an extremely tallented and successful team. The team hopes to attract some new players this year, including a goalie, and build yet another exciting season.
What seems to be the most important driving factor is their passion for playing hockey. Hardly a Friday night goes by all year where they don’t head off to Rollin Ice, put on their Live Oak Jerseys, and face-off against other Bay Area high schools.
Although Sobrato and Gilroy have teams now too, they have not played in the same division as of yet but maybe this year the teams can square off against each other.
